Whether you believe in god or not is of no concern of mine, it's what you do with it that counts.

Being an atheist does not make you a bad person (as most religious people would have you believe), being a bad person makes you a bad person. There is no correlation between atheism and morals, as again most religious people would have you believe. Just like how there is no correlation between the big bang and evolution, another one that certain religious people are way off the mark with.

It is my belief that we need to do everything we can to make this world a better place as there is no magic man in the sky to do it for us or to take the blame when things go wrong.

Most religious people like to pick and choose how they interpret their religious text dependent on their own moral standing and yet cannot understand how an atheist can have his or her own moral standing despite not having any written text to interpolate. To me, anyone who is convinced that they get their morals from an ancient text without their own free will playing a part, has no position to be trying to dictate any moral standing to others. (of course if you wish to kill those who work sundays, those who are gay, etc etc, then i guess you are getting your morals from a book without your free will playing a part and with such bad moral standing you still have no place to dictate those morals to others)

To me, god is nothing more than an abstract notion used purely as a metaphor for what we do not understand. What you believe on a personal level is your own free choice, just don't expect me to take you seriously if you say you believe that the podington peas live at the bottom of your garden, or to try and knock science (bearing in mind what science actually is and not what creationists think it is)
