As part of a massive class project, my peers and I in the Television Production program at Cité collégiale here in Ottawa were given the task of re-shooting an entire music video from start to finish. The original is on the left, our remake is on the right.
This video is the result of countless hours of preperation, roughly 40 hours of shooting involving meticulous lighting, posing and hair and makeup tweaks and roughly 85 hours of post-production.
We chose La Roux's Quicksand video, originally directed by Kinga Burza, because it could be shot entirely in the studio (which was one of the requirements) but most importantly because we believed it offered a decent challenge. Many of us are also fans of her music and in-fact, despite having heard the song over and over constantly for over a week and a half I (speaking for myself and many others) am not even tired of hearing it.
Hope you enjoy the attention to detail in every shot which sometimes cost us an hour or two of tweaking for a few frames of footage. Enjoy a blooper and some "making-of" pictures in the credits at the end.
