Every Child is My Child to Me

Here is a poem I wrote with foster children in mind...when there was a call to walk, wake and light candles for foster children on change.org...

Prayer for foster children and orphans...

God of all religions
God of every congregation
God of all orphans
God beyond every segregation

Grant us that which flows from heart
Our love should merge - not stay apart -
Till a shield of love over people stays
And over each child gently plays
And foster children gently feel
Our hearts of love which flow to heal.

Let the prayers come, O God,
From every nation on our earth.
Let the healing flow, O God
to each orphan who came to birth.

Let Your mercy spread to heal
Let every nation healing feel.
Each nation like an orphan is !
So, God, no nation do Thou miss !

We are children teach us God
To work together for You, Lord
In a merging flow which knows not name
Love for children?
All over earth, its the same.

Christians come and Hindus come
All kind hearts are here welcome
Muslim, Sikh and Buddhist too
And every faith of every hue

Paint it with the love for all
Hold us not in division's thrall
Together we raise our prayers to Thee
Grant Your grace to orphans, We.

Let our flow of love be free...
Every child is my child to me......
