A live dance performance utilizing live image processing. The audience saw a dance as it was recorded, processed, and projected in real time.
Dancer Marci Javril could see the processing and improvise to it. The music is "Gamelan" by Maggi Payne.
This is a taped record of what was projected in "real time" during the performance.
wonderful to see such work. feels related to a favorite filmmaker of mine: Peter Kubelka... his "Adebar" is a favorite of mine.

Hi Marci! We performed together for Ed's project in San Jose, 1986 (I'm the hula dancer in Oua Oua). Nice to discover your dance again, and you did it so well!

The beautiful flow of this dance is created by the artistic use of technology - pattern recognition, mirror images, delay, and purposeful rhythym - all woven together thanks to Maggie's wistful music. It's a classic! - Marci
