"Be what you want to be" seems like such an obvious statement, is it really worth saying? Well, in these materialistic times where so many things are accessible to us and the majority of people live in relative comfort, how many of us really are what we want to be? How many of us are prepared to rock the boat in order to fight for our principles and risk losing what we have? How many of us are prepared to give up our safe jobs and our safe lives in order to achieve our dreams? How many of us will stand up for what we believe, even if it isn't popular, and risk being ostracised and ridiculed for our beliefs? It's difficult, particularly in a society which craves conformity and resents any sign of individuality which departs from the norm. But it is only through embracing our individuality that we can make an impression on the world - to a greater or lesser extent - and ensure that we achieve our true potential and live in a world which is free and fair. The "Tank Man" was the man who, after the Tiananmen Square massacre in China, stood in front of a military tank in order to protest and would not move out of its way. This man wanted to show that what had happened was inexcusable and could not be tolerated and he was prepared to risk death in order to get that message across. How many of us would have the courage to even come close to doing something similar? And yet, without people like the Tank Man, what kind of freedom can we expect to have in the future?
Thanks for the reply:) we should have more peace rebels in the world

@ClaireLKB Yeah, but sadly I think Ocean Colour Scene were right when they said that there's no profit in peace - and don't we know it!
