01/03 Anti-Israeli War Protests in SF & World Ignored Again by Nat'l TV News

Because I had serious doubt this SF protest would get any national TV news coverage, I went to San Francisco to show the world that Northern Californians were against self-righteous war and oppression.

Protest Background: Earlier on January 3rd, 2009 the Israeli military started their ground attack with troops and tanks into the Gaza area. This ground war negatively encouraged peaceful anti-war protesters to gather again in San Francisco to voice out-right objection to additional violence by the Israeli military. Just one day before on Jan. 2nd, San Franciscans marched to protest the air war bombardment by the Israeli military that killed hundreds including children and women (killing civilians, violates international law).

Protesters: The protest included adults and children of all backgrounds/colors with a few members of the gay community, Native Americans, and a few Jewish Americans who all marched in unity against oppression. In opposition, I only saw approximately eight pro-Israelis chanting on the other side of Market Street, who left soon after the march started. The SF police escorted the marchers without incident to protesters which ironically is the exact opposite of what the St. Paul police did to the anti-RNC protesters.

Protest Route: We marched from Powell, then west-ward on Market St., then north-ward on VanNess to the Court House Civic Center. Over the duration of the protest, I collected about 2 hours of digital video then edited it down to 5 minutes for web viewing.

A larger protest in SF will begin Jan. 10th, 2009 and be possibly be coordinated world wide.

interomike, I was there and the video clearly shows middle class, poor, and average people. There were no elitists. Why would an elitist waste their time walking when they can waste their time shopping. This is news not shown on the elite TV news. It is the fault of governments and corporate media who hide the evil going on around the world. interomike, you need to view the whole video before you jump to conclusions. If it wasn't for Press TV we wouldn't have any news about Gaza except what Israel wanted to give us. The reporters are very brave. One reporter was shot between the eyes who was wearing a vest and helmet. And they bombed their building in Gaza but they refuse to leave. That takes courage and dedication!

The US media is Zionist controlled, just like the money and politicians.

Sooner or later it will have to go as it is not accepted by the PEOPLE of the region and the American tax payers can not sustain funding such an expensive military base.
