The story of Rocky's life is one which has always inspired me and has taught me many life lessons. As a youngster my mom purchased him to use as her main event horse. Succesfully he carried my mother and sister around many event courses and won numerous ribbons. I, at this time, owned a large chesnut hanovarian mare named Taluna who i competed in training level 3 day eventing competitions. The bond between Taluna and I was unexplainable and I will never forget the day i had to give her up. Quickly my attention turned to Rocky, I had never really gotten a chance to form a proper bond with this horse because my attention was always on eventing, my horse taluna and the many other horses i rode for my trainer. Rocky at this point had been the only survivor in a barn fire (which occured in a well-known dressage farm in montreal, quebec.) After about a year of only hand walking him he was able and ready to be ridden again and yet soon after this he colicced. With about 30 inches of intestine removed from his body he still managed to survive this incredible ordeal... proving his will to live was greater then the sufferings he was sadly enduring. Rocky soon became my main man, now kept in montreal, he has taught me many things about myself. Patience is one thing... because Rocky is not always the easiest guy to handle ;). Yet learning to love another horse as much as much as i loved my mare taluna was unthinkable to me, until Rocky showed me it was possible. Anyway so this is a short movie of Rocky and some others horses in my life. He is a survivor, a hero and most of all "the world's greatest". :D enjoy.

  • number one: that is a HUGE generalization... i mean come on not ALL american riders choose to go helmetless

number two: i'm from CANADA ... so youre theory just FAILED

number 3: i trust my horse, i owned him for 12 years... if i get hurt well... its my fault? so ya not being rude or anything... just answering your terribly put question
