**At this point in the show, the sound man started increasing the volume and it got pretty distorted. I did my best to clean up the audio.**

Here is one of the Grand Funk Holy Grails. (Ok it isn't Shea Stadium) but it is the only known video of this rare pre-reunion concert from 1996. I was the only one with a camcorder there. For some reason, the security guy let me in and left me alone. I should have brought a tripod...
I have the whole concert recorded and they did a few rarities. Depending on the response, I may post some more.
Enjoy!

** If you are a diehard GFR fan, take note that the instruments are different from the subsequent tours that were to follow. Mark Farner is still using his Peavey guitars here! Also on board are Howard Eddy Jr on Keyboards / backround vocals and Ricky Farner on rhythm guitar / backround vocals.

  • I remember how big Grand Funk was in the early 70's. They were one of the greatest live bands ever. Millions of albums sold before anyone even heard them on the radio, until they came out with "Were an American Band" The first band to reach Stardom without a hit.

  • guys you guy will be good with this one, today I herd a very early version of this song and the bass line was 100% the same as "Sunshine of your love" by Cream. seriously try and find an early version!

  • Csak annyi a kifogásom, hogy rendkívül rossz a hangminőség. A drága, érzékeny

hangszórók nem szeretik, ha ilyen torz jelekkel hajtják meg őket!

  • one of my top favorites bands

  • at 1:17 Mel completely loses the right bass line....it's very strange, rarely he's wrong...

  • thanks Jimmers !! you rock !! I love bonus track version from the red album too !! when I hear this song I feel like singing !!

  • These guys Always Kicked Ass in concert.

  • Well - as I usually say, it's better than nothing - thanks for posting this

  • wow. awesome!!

Grand Funk is the Best. Yeah!!

Got This Thing On The Move Rockers!!

  • Whoa yeah! We understand about the sound distortion...Grand Funk is LOUD! So...please, please DO give us....More! More!
