  • Thirteen years on this earth, and I haven't seen this until now.

The woman you're watching is my grandmother, and she was exactly what this portrait says she was. I remember the songs she used to sing to me when I had a hard time sleeping... I can't believe she's gone. She's in a better place now.

  • I made this film with Elisabeth in 1983 - it was a coproduction between Channel 4 in the UK and SVT2 in Sweden.

I haven't watched it for years and looking at it just now reminded me what a supreme communicator she was . And also a delight to know.

The film took about a year to plan, shoot and edit - a year to remember...

  • That's my girlfriends grannie right there... Bloody brilliant, her voice - just as her grand daughter - is amazingly beautiful

  • @joolo9

i heard your grandmother sing live in australia in the mid 1980s - it is a performance that i remember still vividly after all these years - it was an enthralling recital - and i remember the beautiful voice as well as a wonderful connection with the aduience. i remember fondly the nursery songs of mussourzky - an amazing woman - i am so glad her performances live on here on youtube

  • My condolences, indeed! . . . I can honestly say that touching the hem of this great woman's robe was an integral part of my career in theatre. I know her spirit inspired many. How wonderful that we passed through this world at the same time as this great lady.

  • @joolo9 Rather, WE are in a better place now because she was here. Lucky you!

  • wonderful indeed ! I have worked with her and it is no exaggeration to say she is the greatest singer-actress in our time, -- an d a wonderful shining person.

What does that comment mean " she has gone" ? has she died ? When ?

  • My sympathy to you! We are fortunate to remember your Grandmother as a great artist. However, your memories are even more precious; and they will always be with you.

  • @rui04
