I noticede he wasn't wearing a helmet. If he doesn't wear a helmet the kick start lever could fly off and hit him in the head immediatly.

I noticede he had the kick start lever still down with his foot when the bike started, !
If the engine had stalled because of cold start, and It kicked back, He would have felt a Nasty shock up his leg,(Kick back), Better to Imediatly take foot of start lever as quick as possible,, Or Possibly end up with Dead leg..!!

Good NIGHT mate! Don't you know how to kick a bike? Tickle, choke and KICK!

This 750 was the good one, the 850 was a sleeping pill.
But with the original tires you couldnt drive straight ahead on streets.
love the hard sound, would like to have one again as old man now.

Such a sexy sound.

Put your back into it!

I had four Commandos and despite only being 5 ft 5 inches, I could start them easily. Never on the centre stand or side stand, that would break them. Sold each one to buy the next, and wish I still had them all now.

A beautiful sounding bike! Would love to own one of these babies someday.

@Zircemerald You HAVE to be angry, when you gonna ride a Norton. :-)) LOL!

No problem's with the non combat type engine?
dont rev it too much and youlll be fine.
nice bike though.
WOW! I'm amazed at what a debate this vid has started about how to start a Norton! Okay, I accept that some of this is meant as helpful advice, but there are a fair few nerds out there as well! My Brother doesn't make a habit of starting a bike on a side stand, that was simply to give me a better shot of the bike that day. As for his foot remaining on the kick start, that was more a consequence of him starting it on the side stand for my benefit. So Nerds, you can all sleep easy now! enjoy!
