Oscar nominated filmmaker Michael Moore tells reporters that bringing Fidel Castro to the Oscars would be a "ratings grabber." Moore's film, 'Sicko,' is nominated for Best Documentary.

Cuba is blocked and still they have a good health system

@IamTLiveIam I have spent some time in Cuba, there is allot of homelessness, hunger is rampant, and Castro is a psychopath who murders and rapes his own people. He decided to point nukes at the US after we helped him. Hence the blockade. The hospital I visited was barren, the doctors tools were at least 30 years old, there was almost no advanced medicine to speak of. It's still like 1960 in most of the country. I did visit, and it's beautiful there, most of the people are very nice.

If Cuba is so great, why aren't our citizens defecting to their country instead of their citizen's risking their lives to make it to the U.S.? I have to point out that Michael Moore is a master manipulator and has a real talent to present his opinions as fact and this is very entertaining. Do not be fooled by this man, he is an entertainer and he has become very rich living in a capitalist economy. I wonder if he would have the same oppotunity to voice his opinions in Cuba?

@hectico2683 except that they can go to those hospitals. The idea that they cant is propaganda. Your government doesnt want you to believe that because they dont want you to see that you could have it better. Michael moore, and others showed you that, we also dont need michael moore to show us the flaws, in capitaized health care, we know as fact that people are denied care. But having recieved medical care In cuba I can tell you, that was no mock hospital

@IamTLiveIam however good castro may be, a dictatorship can not sustain itself... im VERY left wing and i dont belive american bias about cuba or canada and europe for that matter... but sooner or later a real ass hole will be in charge of the dictatorship... cuba could even be a 1 party democracy like china if castro wanted a left wing country, hes just power hungry
