I like how he took the word "obsessed" and tore it to fucking shreds! Nice way of minimizing an offensive remark. Good job Maddin!

I went to this interview...at the Kabucki...they also showed The Heart of The World. I saved my stub.
So, folks...
Maddin has a book out, called,
From The Atelier Tovar....a collection of his writing...journals, film treatments, photos, etc. Wonderful and very revealing. Find and buy...and support this frequently broke artist.

Guy Maddin's true genius lies in the fact that he does his art his own way, defying to to confirm, refusing to go commercial---and he would be a genius there, too. Maddin sets the standard for all of us, not only in the super 8 film world but also for those in any arts medium, to just plain "go for it." Ignore all obstacles, rules and limits in sharing your inner talents, the ones you know have always been there inside you, with us and the rest of the world. Guy Maddin, you're the best!
Yesterday I saw my winnipeg on tv. A film I've never seen before, a director i`ve never heard about. I'm from Argentina, and believe me, without being an expert you can realise when someone has talent and can make a piece of art without being part of the commercial machine. So strange, so much beauty. He is an artist, no doubt.

His films are wonderful works of art. I love his way of making films, very old-fashioned looking and very Avant-Garde. Although they are rather hard to understand, they are still entertaining in their own special way.
