Tempo fa GPII mi chiese quale fosse il motivo per cui la televisione statunitense, di cosi' bassa qualita', raccogliesse invece un gran numero di telespettatori. Non ricordo cosa gli risposi di preciso, ma da quanto gli dissi il Vecchio prese la decisione di provare a introdurre il reality show nel palinsensto di SAT2000 (l'emittente satellitare della Chiesa Cattolica). La sua volonta' si fermo' alla fase progettuale, e il programma che aveva ideato non vide mai la messa in onda: fu pero' confezionato un episodio pilota, del cui nastro sono da poco venuto in possesso. Lo pubblico qui, sapendo di fare cosa gradita.

I think the non-Italian speaking public deserve a few clarifications.

1. this is a comic video, combining some mundane features of modern TV shows with the utmost severe character of the Catholic Church

2. Kierkegaard is quoted with "Jesus does not need admirers but followers" written on the wall

3. a wannabe martyr is the show guest, he would follow St. Lawrence on the fire at the end of the show

Da lettore di Kierkegaard, dico che 'sta cosa qui m'ha divertito davvero! Occorerà però capire almeno qualcosa di Kierkegaard per ridervi; ma chissà se l'hanno girato studenti stufi di studiare il Socrate del Nord! Vale anche di più perché non ha avuto un seguito. Da collezione!

Secondo me non era male l'idea base del programma tv. Poter rivivere l'esperienza del martirio (anche se dal punto di vista simbolico, simulato ecc ecc) del proprio santo preferito o al quale si è devoti, accresce la curiosità e il dialogo tra gli individui, o che essi siano credenti o misscredenti. Un motivo in più per poter parlare di spiritualità a tutte le latitudini....Questo si che era un target televisivo, altro che grande fratello o l'isole delle porcate....
