  • that's what a real enforcer used to be. You wanna stir up shit with smaller players you had to deal with Larry Playfair and get pounded. The game was great when the players like this kept the peace. Now the incompetent Bettman and the corrupt Colin Campbell have made the NHL a laughing stock. Now Playfair would be in the box 17 minutes instead of 5, and opposition players would be stirring up more crap and throwing headshots because nobody knows how to bodycheck cleanly today. Crappy NHL

  • @justice008a well said.

  • I think O'Reilly had a tooth ache, that's why he lost. Regards, Derek Sanderson.

  • larry was a bad dude, he loved kicking bostons ass

  • @justice008a Behn Wilson didnt loss so many bouts, its his biggest plus IMO.

Wilson had a draws with Probert, Jonathan, Gillies( both dude scored one victory over each other as their Round2 goes narrowly to Gillies for landing best punches)and i think Wilson got Pletts, Clarks, Howatts, Frasers, O'Reillys, McSorleys, Semenkos and he lost to Fotiu, Wensink ...no many losses.

  • @justice008a dave brown was a savage pure a-1 specie and was bigger than wilson/stronger but wilson is

was simply the holocaust of the nhl in the low 80s. both in my top3 with playfair who was a meatgrinder for sure as shown here he kicked oreilly sorrys ass couple of times

  • @khav11 they were both defencemen and very seldom met up. Wilson didn't fight any more often than he had to, and guys didn't go looking for him unless they wanted a beating. Playfair was a stay-at-home defenceman and policeman more than someone who went looking for trouble. I'm sure they'd have had some great fights -- I'd favour Wilson because he had a better chin, but since Wilson is #1 all-time you can pretty much favour him over anybody of this era in their prime -- maybe even Dave Brown

  • @justice008a wilson should have kicked playfair ass more often though!

  • @justice008a

then you need to watch the ones i saw this guy has posts on youtube and it goes from round 1-5 O'reilly took the first 3 fights, gillies took the 4th, and then O'reilly took the 5th

  • @mooseman1231 not in the playoff series I watched. Gillies repeatedly pounded O'Reilly and that helped the Isles roll through the Bruins on their way to the next round. Nobody had a winning record against Gillies other than Behn Wilson.

  • @justice008a

actually he made the top 3 in fighters of his time on a couple lists and on another few he was in the top 10 second he won a majority of his fights and beat clark gillies 4 out of 5 fights so i dont know what your talking about. and again is credited as being one of the most effective enforcers in history so you are obviously just jealous of him because he didnt start trouble but he sure did handle it well good day. :)
