The conversion kits slides are aluminum and the frames are steel or aluminum.

Kimber is overpriced, but their slide worked very well on my Springfield.

You would attribute the malfunctions to it being dirty? I'm looking at purchasing one of these to put on my Kimber TLE II Pro Carry that has a steel frame. Stick a magnet on it and you'll figure it out :) Accuracy looks to be pretty good out of this. Reliability? I saw you had quite a bit of .22 ammo. Best and worst ammo to shoot out of one of these .22 conversions? Pro Carry II has aluminum frame.

@MarshalZhukov Yes, I attribute the malfunctions to being dirty. Also maybe the way she was holding the gun. She had more problems then I did. CCI mini mags are the best ammo for any semi auto pistol.

Sorry my friend picked this gun up. This gun in .45 is his primary home defense gun. I'll try to get my hands on it again.

I got mine at Marin Firearms, Novato CA. Bullseye in San Rafael, and Sportsmans arms Petaluma also have AR's.
