@Nessasbeach Adopt one. Do. You will be definitely be a happier person. We adopted one, she is just amazing, giving sooo much fun and love. All dogs are great I think, but Danes are special. The costs are higher, but it should be okay if you keep her in good shape. Forget all the very expensive dog-food, you don't need that. Inform yourself well in advance. But do yourself a huge favour and adopt a Great Dane! Let us know. Hi from France

@Nessasbeach I have 1 great dane and 1 APBT. Great danes cost about double the cost of keeping a medium sized dog. More dog food (we go thru 50lbs every 2 weeks), higher vet bills (frontline alone is nearly $120 for Emma, our great dane). Shots are basically the same, maybe a little extra. Spaying/nuetering is RIDICULOUS! $250 to spay Emma (most of that was the anestesia). Plus you have to consider how quickly they grow out of colors (we went thru 5 the first year). But totally worth it! :)
