I love your outfit!! You look so adorable...

@dylan14570 The only thing with a tumbler is that none of the natural compost good stuffs and insects come up from the ground....but it does seem very neat and tidy :}

@gunnersmom0707 Hey Ohio here to! I moved from a warmer zone and wonder if you have any suggestions on the best veggies for me in Akron to garden.

I really enjoy your videos. hubby & i started sfg last year. he was laid off from warehouse position in construction job Dec 2008. We learned so much about sfg in 2009. learned how to can. hubby still hasn't found full time work so we've decided he will go into semi retirement, work part time, work the sfg and babysit our 2 granddaughters. I work full time., but we enjoy spending time together canning produce.
hubby has a nice compost heap started!

It's been great fun watching your videos...Composting is a great idea...A combination of compost and worm castings keeps my SFG happy and productive. But yours are WAY prettier :) Looking forward to season 2!

@notw21 Hi!
Thanks for watching! I have not had a peoblem with ants. You might try Escar-go Supreme from a company called Gardens Alive online.

Thanks for sharing your videos, I have really learned a lot from them. I am starting a garden this year and have been growing some plants from seed. We started our beds over Christmas and are finishing them now. I'll need to fence our garden to keep the deer and other critters out! I look forward to watching your videos this year. I have even thought that maybe I should do similar videos to yours simply because the Midwest is different and others might learn from them. Thanks!

That would be a great idea to do a regional video. My climate is soooo different from most others in the US. I am just glad to have inspired you to start your own SFG. Did you buy the book, All New Square Foot Gardening? It is excellent and I HIGHLY recommend it!

What a sweet sweet spirit you are.. thank you for allowing everyone into your life and sharing this gardening experience.. We had our first SFG the season before last. It was great! We loved blue lake green pole beans YUMMO and tomatos.. MY goodness! our cukes got that SAME bug your did! You've inspired me to try again but we need new materials since ours didn't last. What kind of wood are your boxes made from? God Bless your harvest this year! ~Angel

Thanks so much for watching my videos! I used a vinyl house trim, it looks like painted wood. I was afraid to use real wood because of termites. I also did not want to use treated wood due to the chemicals. The Square Foot Gardening Foundation website sells a variety of precut boxes WITH THE GRIDS. They are also economical. Happy Gardening!
