The 'LA Times' reports Creflo A. Dollar, senior pastor of World Changers Church International, preaches that God will reward his faithful with material riches. It is a gospel that has won the flamboyant, demon-possessed preacher a 25,000-strong congregation -- and a Rolls-Royce, a multimillion-dollar mansion and a private Gulfstream III jet. Now a Senate committee is investigating whether Dollar and leaders of several other mega-churches have illegally used donations to fund opulent lifestyles. Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) has sent letters to six high-profile mega-churches, including Dollar's in College Park, Ga., requesting that they hand over records of salaries, expense accounts, credit cards, cars and airplanes.' Jesus came into the city of Jerusalem on a donkey,' Grassley said in a telephone interview. 'Do these ministers really need Bentleys and Rolls-Royces to spread the Gospel?' Grassley has some other specific concerns. For example, he wants Paula and Randy White, pastors of the Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Fla., to document thier tax-exempt cosmetic surgery. And he wants Joyce Meyer, who runs Joyce Meyer Ministries from Fenton, Mo., to explain the tax-exempt purpose of a $23,000 'commode with marble top.' Next we will look at a report documenting how the megachurches and pastorpreneurs like Bill Hybels, Rick Warren and Joel Osteen are fleecing the flock' by offering a luke-warm gospel, giant screen TV's, rock music & plenty of entertainment.

  • @johnfactorial By telling him to judge not, you judged another person too. Further, your incompetent misuse of Matthew 7:1 in the context of a New Testament that tells us that the spiritual man judgeth all things in 1 Cor. 2:15 AND in the context of a chapter in Matthew 7 that commands and demands that you beware of false prophets which are then identifiable by their fruits in vv. 15-20 is breathtaking. When will people see how ridiculous the isolation of Matthew 7:1 is?

  • I don't know why people keep saying DO NOT JUDGE if the scriptures clearly warn us to be careful to test the spirits, the what out for the wolves, the judge the fruit, not to have fellowship with darkness, HOW CAN ONE OBEY GOD IF W E CANNOT JUDGE. When Jesus said do not judge he was talking about hypocritical judgement. He was saying judge yourself first. THIS DO NOT JUDGE RULE IS THE SCRIPTURE USED BY FALSE TEACHERS TO LAY A GUILT TRIP ON THOSE WHO WOULD EXPOSED THEM.

  • @cscissorhands1

Dissent is over minor things(such as clothing, dress code)--things not spoken of clearly in Scripture---exposing the false(seeking after money, teaching bad doctrines, fleecing the flock, teaching false grace and license to sin) is COMMANDED by Scripture multiple times. If you want references I can give them to you but you should know the Scriptures well enough to not be fooled.

  • Prosperity church is for greedy people. Mammon is the god. But don't judge the working and the poor for the clothes they wear.

  • I got 3 minutes in and couldnt stand to listen to more. How many times does the Bible speak out against those that cause dissent in the church? How many times does it call out those that value tradition over true passion? Who cares if there's a dress code? Whose decision is it how much they give to the church? Who are you to say that the man is greedy and selfish? And who are you to say that he is, and I quote, "a devil?" I'll let everyone think about these questions for themselves.

  • All men want is to be rich, what makes you different from the rappers who praise the cash?

  • @lintonlin You greedy old man. Its all you wanted in the world money, it is part of the lust of the flesh.

  • @BronzeSista That's exactly what it's about. Plus I think ever since that 20/20 story they did on Dr. Fred Price and Ever Increasing Faith, that I believe is also what made Grassley act in the way that he did as well.

  • @Tsuruta1 I see understand what you are saying, Pastor Dollar is right in that they the federal government would like to control the church's finances. I do believe that churches should be accountable in terms of how the finances are spent at a church, and it does not matter what denomination that church is, but it should be done across the board and in a fair manner. The race of the pastor should not matter either, lets tell the truth and be fair about it. God have mercy on us.
