OK, here it is, (finally!) I wanted to make this video just before Xmas as my gift to all you great folks who actually watch my videos, Thanks THANKS!, but time wouldn't let me, but today was the day. No more will you have to buy all new aluminum trim to match the few shiney new pieces your car needed. By using this "Hair and Grease" remover, you can polish that dull old aluminum to shine and match the new replacement pieces!
NEW IDEA HERE! ahamburger111 said he used "windex and fine steel wool", but he thought this drain opener would work better. I am thinking that the fine steel wool and the drain opener would be an even better ticket!!! I haven't tried it yet,(steel wool 000), but I can't wait to. Some of the anodize seems to need help scrubbing off and 000 fine steel wool may just be the trick.

  • WOW Thanks for the awesome tip! I have had a 63SS for 18 years and have always wanted the anodized to shine more. DO you think it will work on the side moldings and grill. I have a spare grill I can try it on that I have been considering chroming. Thank You

  • @chicoimpala Yes! it will work. the secret is in getting that anodize clear coat off, then the trim will polish as much as you want it too.

  • The trim will keep the shine without protection? Eastwood used to sell a couple of paints to protect trim. But we don't need it?

  • @redandgearhead Probably, but most of the show cars get their trim polished regularly so they don't get a chance to dull. The trim on this 63 that I polished a year ago stll looks great and I haven't cleaned it much at all, but it still shines up fine. I don't know why the factory put that coating on, maybe cars in salty climates need it, but in TX even with all this rain, my trim looks newly polished.

  • my brothers 77 nova concourse has the same rims as your impala. they do not make them anymore i hear...keystones?

  • @JAMESS30288 Its got crager SS's on it.

  • MAN THAT'S FREAKIN AWESOME.this video really helped my project go a little further.thank you

  • Im restoring my 69 chevelle ss and was about to buy new headlight bezels until I watched this video. This worked great! I used a large pan and I deluted just a little, enough to just submerge my bezels and let them soak for about 5-8 mins. Rinsed and went to work with the mothers metal polish. They look better than new....Thanks for posting this video....

  • I tried it, and it did NOT work for me. I'll stick with the steel wool and I did use the mothers wheel polish.

  • Hey Dan , do you think this method will shine the newer Alloy Rims of today ??? Ray

  • are you selling the 63 impala?

  • Thats some mean shit!

  • That is a great tip, but how does that stuff work in drains...pretty good?

  • That is very cool i will have to try that on the chevelle!

  • Great video. Easier than how I was doing mine. This should make doing my grill a lot easier.
