If you like milk, there is a site where you can find a dairy in your state that sells in returnable glass bottles...I buy from Whole Foods since they carry a fresh dairy brand...it taste far better and it would reduce plastic use by a great deal...he lid is still plastic but can be tossed into a recycling bin...

Interesting. It can be hard for most people to find glycerin in a glass bottle instead of plastic. I have found it at Lhasa Karnak in Berkeley. Wondering if others have been able to find it.

Cork wine-corks are beeing substituted by plastic winne-corks. This is a stupid change and much more expensive in the long run. Please abstain from buying wine bottles with plastic corks, since corks made of cork are much healthier and environment friendly!

Sandra at The Sensible Mom website offers a YouTube video of how to make liquid hand soap. Three ingredients - water, glycerin, and hand soap. She used Dr. Bonner’s Peppermint Bar soap made with organic oils. I haven't tried the recipe, but she says it works great. She says three keys are the right hand soap, the right amount of glycerin, and stirring every few hours.
