This Podcast explores the complex nonlinear analyses that are required to simulate Packer Seals. Packer seals are placed between outer and inner casing of pipes which are used in Oil & gas wells and other such wells. They are used to prevent corrosive fluids and materials from traveling in a certain direction as well as maintain the volume between the inner and outer casing as well as other important functions. Here we see MSC Marc being used to solve the highly nonlinear structural compression combined with a thermal expansion of a packer seal so that it can meet its objectives.
