The song is nice but I don't think it deserved an oscar to be honest. It's just not very original, you know? At this very moment there are several other singer-songwriters here in Dublin who have virtually identical songs. They don't play them much because there are too many like it. Not that it's a bad song mind you. It's always pleasant to hear but it's a standard formulaic system and anyone who's turned their hand to songwriting has hit upon that very arrangement quite early on. Still, nice 1
