One side is talking theory and world balance while the other side is talking practical effect. Free trade destroys first world markets as shown by the damage to Europe and the US. Increase in competition doesn't necessarily mean decrease in price. When wages fall because of increased competition, they tend to fall faster than prices. That leaves people less well off if they have a job at all to say nothing of the 30+ percent unemployment rates that go unreported or misreported on purpose
