Nothing wrong with your vegan point of view. But, to claim meat is murder is wrong. To do so is to claim that the vast majority of animals in our biosphere are murderers because they eat other animals. Are the lions in Africa murderers? Are the praying mantises in my back yard murderers too? How about the cat next door? Murderer too? Of course not. Besides, who is to say that every tree and plan on the planet isn't sentient?

@durianriders I see your point, but lions do not eat their own. At least no more than humans do. As for the bugs, my point is that this biosphere was designed with an order (ecosystem). In any ecosystem there is an order. Many of the organisms at the top of our order (humans and dogs for example) feel loss and can develop a connection or guilt associated with using other species lower in the chain as fuel. It may be sad but is not murder to do what is natural.

people feel guilty simply because modern ways of living mean that someone else does it. We as a species have lost our primal instinct since we no longer have to hunt down chicken, its there waiting for us neatly packaged and ready to eat. its no secret neanderthol man constructed tools to hunt and kill animals. its natural. no reasoning, just the urge to eat. if it isnt natural, why didnt they all stick to berries? we would be dead as a species otherwise if we refused to hunt.
