first time i started it after full engion rebuild it has 1275 head on 998cc block rc40 exhast and a stage 1 rally kit

    100mph easy

  • dont no just yet still in prcess of finishing off to take to north east mini show but it is very quick dont no exhact bhp just yet

  • he might of changed the diff? or it revs higher than standard, which, considering the mods, it probably does. my mini has a warm 1340 with this and that, but revs to around 7000rpm on a 3.44 diff. good for well over the ton. and its got the same rear lights as this one, and an 850 badge on the boot, if that matters

  • Sorry mate. But there is no way you do over 100mph in it.

    I see from the rear lights etc that it's a MK3.

    All Mk3's had a 3.444 Differential, which meant they were on the redline in top doing 95Mph.

    Considering the time it would take to get from 95 to over 100, I'm sure it would have dropped a valve.

    And another thing, you have to remember it's a "Smiths" Speedo, judging by the accuracy of those bloody things you were probably doing about 12Mph Ahah :P
