This great tenor sings "Non ti scordar di me" at his recital in 1996. He was 72 years of age, and has proven himself to be one of the greatest singers in opera history...and as the song says, "We will never forget you!"

  • Grande Carlo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sei un fenomeno.

  • the three stooges, as you call them (such disrespect) did not perform as you say they did.

Lucianno did the trill in "O Sole Mio" and Domingo and Carreras immitated him for laughs.

  • I believe this was his farewell concert, right? What a great artist. Such a difference with "The Three Stooges". I say this because of the way they used to sing "O Sole Mio", doing that awful, tasteless trill in "Ma n'atu sole!". Total disrespect for the music. Bergonzi gives us a lesson on how these popular songs (Napolitan, Tosti, etc.) should be sung. With emotion, not inventing singing acrobatics as The Three Stooges did with O Sole Mio.

  • I wish I could have sung that well when I was 30

  • Carlo Bergonzi was one of the finest tenors ever to grace the stage of the Met

Opera House in New York City. It must have really warmed his heart to see how

the audience responded to him at Carnegie Hall.

  • I have something in my eye. Beautiful!!!!!

  • Please post moreeeeeee

  • Thanks for the post, I'd forgotten how much fun that was - everyone yelling and stomping their feet in appreciation!!

  • Those "others" never had this fan APPRECIATION!!!!

  • thank you for posting this...i was there and until now it had only to extraordinary memories. thank you, thank you
