You can definitely get into a trance and lose yourself and get into the realm and communicate with God with their drums. But Mien people's drums are deeper in base. It's for the pow. I think the bigger the drum, the more powerful your trance.

@GelbSchmetterling Yes, you are on the right track. These musicians/shamans are really in a trance making bounds with the subtle world of the spirit(s). Drums are often used in this kind of ceremonies to make the hearth aware of its consciousness and achieve one soul's health. Sounds nonsense and crazy but only the one who has lived this can really understand this "craziness".
