Dr Fields MD, DC, interviewed on KCAL 9 Los Angeles on repairing joints with Prolotherapy. Prolotherapy is a natural non-surgical method of assisting the body to heal injured or weakened joints, ligaments and tendons. With Prolotherapy, the weakened areas are injected with a proliferant that stimulates the growth of healthy, strong tissues. As the tendons and ligaments grow stronger and vibrant, the pain is alleviated.

  • wow this guy has an MD and DC..... those each take 4 years, he probably did a 4 year bachelor, and another 5 years of orthopedic residency..... so thats like 17 years on top of high school

  • @CrossHairSB how did your prolotherapy go? did it help you?

  • @Lekiwi33 Like i said Lekiwi... it may work for some injuries but it certainly did not for my neck problem. I also since tried a rehab called decompression therapy on a special machine called the DRX 9000... it also did not work. I believe what I have are bone spurs & not hypermobility so I hope any of these therapies work for you. Chronic fatigue sucks the big one. Take care.

    Ken

  • @CrossHairSB let me know how it went i have hypermobility and am considering this treatment..thanks

  • I can tell you that I had debilitating knee damage. I had given up for a few years. But luckily I found out about prolo and now I'm at about 90% of what my knee used to be.

  • Do these injections help with torn rotator cuffs in the shoulders?

  • While Prolotherapy may work for some injuries, it did Not work for my neck injury after around 14 injections. I liked the doctor and he truly was interested in helping me but the only thing that seemed to give me relief was the numbing shots that were performed before hand. It was frustrating for him and I that each week he'd have me answer the same ol' results questionaire & I'd continually have to put "eh, about the same... still have a strained neck" etc....

    stating fact... good luck. Ken

  • @eugene22n22n I was wondering how your knee pain is doing after your prolo. How many injections did you need?

  • I agree. I had my last treatment with Dr. Fields for a groin injury almost 6 months ago and now it feels fantastic. I recently hurt my mcl. I'm going to see if he can help me speed up the recovery.

  • That's nice to know, I've had TMJ for about 2 years. Is that long enough to consider trying prolotherapy?
