Ok you must be using an older version of blender for this cause its not doing half the things you said it should do "Hold down CTRL and press P" does bring up a menu BUT it doesnt look like yours and it says Select Amature Deform, and there is no secondery menu to select "Creat from bone heat"....and for the life of me i couldnt see any button that said MAKE REAL???? can you do this tutorial on an updated version of Blender please??

Sorry! I would like to know what music you used in this video?

@SandieBoing Select automatic weights after cntrl p. When exporting the file, check "export to Secondlife" in the left pane.

@sgoobysnacks29 I've figured it out. WHen pressing control p, select automatic weights. When exporting the file as Collada.dae, make sure to check "Export for SecondLife" in the left pane.

Alright. I'm using blender 2.49a I open up the skeleton I import the model I position it I rig it (bone heat) It works fine in pose mode I take the bones out of pose mode and into object mode I select the model I click on make real I export as collada 1.4 with triangles and "selected only" chosen I import into SL It gives me a "Dae parsing issue" error ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH WHAT AM I DOING WRONG

@gameexe yea I had to start all over again in Maya. I got character in world but it was acting all messed up. Maya barely works for me as well, but I had to make sure I didn't move the skeletons pelvis any where or breaks the rig. =/

So, i followed the instructions and got the mesh moving with the bones in blender. Exported to Collada 1.4 as instructed, but when trying to upload i get the error "The model contains no meshes. NewAgentInventory_InvalidAsset" as well as the issue Xuphor described. The mesh uploaded fine before i rigged it.

@RancidMaz
did you try uploading with the beta or the project viewers asides from the official viewer? LL loves to screw up the mesh uploader every month so i have like 4 viewers installed for uploading diferent kind of meshes since some meshes wont upload with one viewer ad others wont upload with the other viewer

@RancidMaz - my friend i've been trying to get this to work for a week. Tried with belender 2.5x with the bone copy weights script, and it crashes. Tried with beleder 2.49b, and it fails to export, comes up with an error in the python script... pffff... this guy makes it look easy, i cannot follow this any closer [watched it 15 times or so over the week, but i STILL cannot get a colada 1.4 .dea file onto my desktop [pulls at what hair he has left]
grrr lol
