SBTG BASICS: MILITARISM DEBUT COLLECTION

After seven years of creating over-the-top and off-the-hook customs, SBTG is going back to basics. Kicking off 2010 is a new permanent range with the maiden release based around the classic white Air Force 1. Spurred by requests for custom designs that were low-key enough for everyday wear but classic enough to wear with a suit, the result is SBTG BASICS.

The debut Militarism collection features a choice of different signature SBTG camouflage prints on the swoosh: Tiger-stripe Saigon, German Flectarn, tribal Rival, game-hunting Hunter, and desert Choc on a white, silver, gold or red base, all with a pristine white tongue. Each of the 20 different variations includes a discreet SBTG logo on the outer side of the toe and comes with a set of gold lace buckles. Priced at $289 for white bases and $329 for color bases.

Although I love the artwork that SBTG exudes, the critics' points brings valid issues to light: (1) the more detailed/intense customs are not for everyone's taste (or in my case, environment, ie., work place) and (2) the price point may not be practical for a shoe that may only work with a small percentage of one's wardrobe.

More importantly, SBTG offering 'lines' of products also becoming more profitable by LISTENING to critics shows the passion to craft and business.

Like AF1s, dunk lows and Hi are classics yet timeless silhouettes.

I think it will work pretty well if you make a midas and sterling version of the dunks.

Or perhaps a different colorway. combo of purple gradient and SBTG camo maybe? Just thinking. =)

Yes I am. I'm looking forward to dunk lows and HI. Hope you'll have 'em with the same design/treatment as those AF1 soon. =)

Hey glitch, it was quite a journey being SBTG and i finally know wat it is about. its about people like u who defines the brand.

Anyways good news that i just spent the day today working on more design that might just be up your alley.

this seasons nike releases are just great. Perfect for custom work.

For sure man, i know that SBTG isn't for everyone but i really wanna get connected to the people who love our product and give them wat they want. this is a start and it might not work for people who dont rock af1's but hey it doesnt end here u know.

I got what u are saying and we are coming up with new ideas on improving our basics range. the idea is really so that more people can afford a pair of SBTG's and we know its not all about us making a buck from u guys. So if u have any idea of how an sbtg basic should look like for say around $300-$400 i would wanna make that for u.
