  • Thanks for asking. The guitar is in standard tuning. You are quite right to suspect that it could be an open tuning for slide playing, but Muddy Waters and David 'Honeyboy' Edwards played slide licks like these in standard, which is where I learned them. All the figures played here are in the key of E.
