Located on Hudsons Bay across the river from Churchill, Canada. Exterior and interior including cannon emplacements and support room walls. Also video of a polar bear by the bay out from the fort.

Another view of the fort from the air via chopper followed by a few Beluga whales in Churchill river and 18th century graffiti on some rocks south of the fort. August, 2000

  • There were other reasons for Churchill to exist apart from the port. They also had an American rocket range doing atmospheric research including Northern Light research. I heard they developed "chaff" there, the technique for fooling radar guided missles. Black Brant was the biggest missle there I think. Also the longest paved runway in North America (?) for military aircraft. Early warning for incoming Russian missles was probably there too. And a military base in the 50's.
