Au début des années 1980, en Allemagne de l'Est, l'auteur à succès Georges Dreyman et sa compagne, l'actrice Christa-Maria Sieland, sont considérés comme faisant partie de l'élite des intellectuels de l'Etat communiste, même si, secrètement, ils n'adhèrent aux idées du parti.

I'm French and i watched this movie in German. Even if i only understood thanks to the subtitles, the movie is so great that i forgot i was reading.

Isn't it hard to read all the time? And so you can't really watch the movie, because you are always reading...

Of course my French is not as good as yours at all, but for me the subtitles are too fast on the screen ^^.

Nevertheless of course it is nice that you watched the movie! And it is even nicer that you liked it ;)

human, indeed. have you ever been prevented from sleeping, harassed by people who have absolute power on you and won't leave you alone until you give names, nevermind you are innocent or not? because for these people, you are guilty, whatever the facts. these techniques were used in USSR and other "human" countries, that's why so many people tried to flee to "inhuman" countries where they could not be harassed like that. this is torture, nothing less.

i consider this to be a human form of interrogation which works most of the time. on the other hand extreme pysical and psychological torture is inhuman and often results in faulty intelligence.
