USAF C-5 Galaxy landing at Faro airport in south Portugal, May 1994. Runway is 2490 meters long, it seems to me this C-5 used around 1300 meters "only". It was carrying vehicles for a military exercise.

  • I heard the engines accelerate faster on the run way after it landed. Dont they do that incase they dont have enough space to land, incase they need to pull up? Badcially like the jets on aircraft carriers

  • After landing the reversers are armed and engine power increased to force more jet blast to the opposite direction, this helps in the braking action in the runway. Sorry if this is confused, english is not my natural language.
