this is me on april fools day annealing copper with my butane pencil torch. I got this pencil torch at harbor freight on south lamar in Austin, Texas. I got the butane at walgreens. Annealing colorizes the copper and softens it so it is easy to hammer and form. If you look closely at the video you can see faces and other shapes that look like something in the real world. At one time a hand mysteriously emerged. I like to think of this particular video as my way of painting again but without a brush. I like holding the torch at different distances to get the colors I like. It is a really satisfying way of making art. I may do it all over again tomorrow because I love these colors I get!!
