I vividly remember this from when I was a kid in Brooklyn! I didn't live on the B/Q line, so I only saw it once or twice, but man was it a memorable experience for 10-year-old me. As fate would have it, I grew up to be a professional animator. Coincidence? Maybe not!

I see this every day on the subway and it always cheers me up. Thanks for posting this!

Saw this mentioned in one of our magazines, said to come out to YT for a look. Very cool artwork. Wish I still lived in the NY area so I could see it in person.
Thanks for sharing it.

I saw this myself when riding the N train into Manhattan from DeKalb Avenue, It reminds me of the animated ads we have uphere in Boston's MBTA Red Line rom Harvard to Central and from South Station toBroadway
The thing was created in 1982 shortly before I moved to NYC/Brooklyn. Times were very bad in the early 1990s, and teenagers tagged it heavily! The MTA closed it down about 1993.
Thanks for restoring it!

Hi Stan,
It opened Sept 17, 1980 almost exactly 29 years ago. It had gotten pretty damaged by the late '80's. MTA Arts for Transit made an effort to restore it in the early '90s but it got hit again very quickly. Now I'm hopeful that it will stay running for a long time. Arts for Transit has committed to keeping it up. Thanks for the appreciation.
