France's economy has failed for last 20 years. In 1985 it had 7th largest GDP in the world. Now it's 19th largest. France is now an economy with too much government regulation and interference. You are confusing yourself with "Napoleon & Mussolini." You should read Burke, Hume, Milton Friedman, Thomas Sowell, William F Buckley Jr. They love freedom not statism.

Umm, you are confusing things. China was impoverished for years because of Socialism, Communism, Mao's cult of personality. Now that Chinese discover that capitalism is the natural order of human beings interacting with each other, it's becoming more prosperous. Millions of Chinese are leaving poverty for the middle class on a yearly basis but it's been decades overdue. 50 years ago, Japan and South Korea were poor countries. They have been prosperous ever since
This socialist knows nothing about economics. I hope she loses. Europe used to be powerful and succesful. Now, the Asians copy the Americans and are making money. I hope Sarkozy wins for France's sake so those stupid 35-hr work week laws get abolished!

Oh yes... I see... You're the kind of people who would have applauded Napoleon the first because with him, the France was powerful, and Mussolini, because with him, the economy was good... And so many others : Pinochet, Den Xiao Ping etc.
Personnaly, I dislike the socialists, but in this particular case, I'll always prefer freedom to slavery, especially when it's slavery for the benefits of a restricted caste.
Because I dont think Sarkozy is a democratic politician...

And, by the way, I think you dont really know what is the social and economic system of the China, except may be what you did see at tv...
But did you see the revolts, the "jacqueries", and the repression...
In medias, they always speak of the 135 millions people of the chinese middle class, and the few billionaires...
Do they speak of the billion of people crawling in poverty, the revolts in the eastern country, the peasants abandonned to the stavation and the illness ? I dont thnk so...
