Beasts of the Southern Wild - Interview with Benh Zeitlin, Quvenzhané Wallis and Dwight Henry

Director Benh Zeitlin talks how everybody was excited to step in this adventure. 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' is also the film debut for Quvenzhané Wallis and Dwight Henry. Both actors talk about their experience with HitFix's Greg Ellwood.

First of all the first part of her name, Quven, is a combination of her parents names and the last part of her name, zhané, means "fairy" in Swahili. Her name is not "ghetto" and you my friend are ignorant.

Just like every culture ever? Look into the weird diversity of French Canadian names, for a perfect example. My great-grandfather's name was Janvier, I have a distant cousin named Dieu-donné, and then there are classics like DesNeiges or Eutrope or Hermenégilde. But to outsiders I'm sure they just sounded "poor" and "dumb" and "ghetto."
