I was always taught to remove earth lead first and reconnect last.....so you won't short anything out!!!!

Do you not need to have a secondry power supply as not to break terminal lead circuit? I thought that the ecu, alarm and air suspension etc was all connected?

When the positive is disconnected then there is no "potential difference" so you cannot short anything out. However as I was not taught by a Jedi I will leave this point up for debate and keep an open mind....I would not want to contradict the teachings of a master...

We did not need to enter a radio code or have any problem with the ECU. You do need to re calibate the steering but this is just left lock to right lock with ignition on.
