We were hired to make a little educational film for a stage production of George Orwell's THE ROAD TO WIGAN PIER. The producer wanted it to be ready for a fundraiser he was holding for the show. We were nowhere near ready, so we made this instead. Special thanks to Sam Raimi for his unwitting help in getting it done. (Fun fact: The actual film we ended up making is shorter than this trailer.)

How can you make a stage production of 'A Road to Wigan Pier'? The second half of the book alone is a long essay on Socialism, and the first part details fragmented accounts that Orwell had with various miners.

Fortunately, all I had to do was the video, so that wasn't my challenge. But I think they pulled it off. It was a solid production. With far more music and laughs than Orwell probably envisioned.
