The firman in the drama who were fighting the fires where bomb had exploded in drama, were being exposed to up too 200 rems, which was ten times or more the safe dose for any human being. For instance none of those firman had lead aprons that those Russian soldiers had at the Chenobol nuclear plant disaster in 1986.

@noobcrusher141 It would be ten times that if a radiological or dirty bomb was exploded. Some of the terrorists themsleves in the drama died so after, from just being in contact with this stuff. Look at the amount of precautions they had to use in the garage, just to put those radiative substances in them flasks. The gamma stuff was so dangerous that exposure of more than sixty seconds to it, was fatal.

@vze2hnvz This is getting very technical lethal doses and rem dosages... Have I stumbled on a physics seminar? Because as I see it any higher than normal background radiation is bad and this would certainly be the case, if an attack like this was too actually happen on London. You'd have both gamma rays, beta and alpha rays at lethal levels at the bomb site itself, but most of the illnesses would becaused by the long term effects of radiative contamination: cancers birth defects over decades.

10 rems is the maximum dose allowed per EPA guidelines for protecting major property, which most first responders follow. By the "time,distance and shielding" factor, would you expose yourself to 210 rem dose when you could divide the job/time by two individuals and halve the exposure? A 210 rem dosage is a Lethal Dose in 10-35% of the population after 30 days. 30 days is not a modererate long term danger in my book, unless your a moth.
