You do know about the real 2696 past history right. It was originally Pere Marquette 1212 when the Pere Marquette ordered its first 15 berkshires, but when the merger happened it got its new number painted on it so there is no evidence of it being a Pere Marquette engine. So it can be considered correct if you think about its past history.
