I love my D40...it may be old, out of date and entry-level, but it's my baby :D

The Video was great, but the music really makes it. I think I could change my focus screen, IF I had that music playing through the process.

-
will the brackets flash red if you use AF mode or is there any change in AF mode?
-
@delonge5000 thats not right....

@Xyb3rTeCh The Nikon D40 is a very good camera for the small price it cost!
I work as a professional photographer and for a long time i had a
D40 for my studio portrait photography and the imagequality is good...
(Printed A3 formats with nice result)
If you are a beginner this IS the perfect camera!
Best Regards

COCKSUCKERS, it doesn't matter the camera, what matters is the photographer...if you love photography you'll do it even with a compact..consumer kids.

and sony alpha 200 was damn much better than this piece of crap

d40 is the worst of nikon. not even better than canon rebel xs. 3 AF pts is serious crap
Thanks for the vid. I have a D40 and a couple of old manual lens. Just purchased the cheap ebay focusing screen to help on my manual focusing. THis vid will certainly help me.

Thanks for the vid! I'll probably do this sometime soon. Is this the katz eye? Or the cheaper model?

This is the cheap screen which I purchased in ebay.
If there is the plan that you buy, I think that katz eye is better.

Why would you want to bother with the cost with a D40?
I personally have D200 with a Katzeye for manual nikkor lenses...
But with a body that can't meter with non-CPU lenses - why'd you bother?
BTW... Metal tweezers are a no no.
No gloves aswell.
Well, if you're happy with it. I suppose you're fine.

I judged that I was suitable for a remodeling base because D40 was cheap.
I would not have the courage to remodel it like you if I had D200.
Btw, this remodeling means that i don't want to be regulated by a lens.
We can confirm the photography result immediately, so exposure is a trial and error.
I reflect on having used metal tweezers. We should use the plastic one.
