A balloon filled with hydrogen has a piece of string dangling from the bottom. It floats to the ceiling, because the combined density of the hydrogen and the balloon are less than the air surrounding it. The string is lit at the bottom and slowly burns up, causing a furious combustion reaction between the hydrogen and the oxygen in the air forming water vapour.
