  • Viva! Jerry Gonzales!

  • You know, one of the things I most love about clips like this is the fact that you can see the "love-of-music" in the efforts and performances of these musicians. Sure, they want and need to get paid. However, by just looking a Manny Oquendo's solo, one can tell that his playing comes from the heart. . .money win or lose!

  • I've always had a name for Manny Oquendo's brand of salsa. Several years ago, I dubbed Oquendo's - and some of Palmieri's earlier music - as, "Salsa Estruja!" In other words. . .un-ironed, unkempt attire!

If I were to describe this as I would a bottle of wine, I'd have to say that.Oquendo's music has a raw and rustic side to it, with a frequent "Rough Note" feel to it, which hints of a classic NYC "Barrio" from back in the 80's.

  • gran timbalero de todos los tiempos¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Inmenso Manny Oquendo !
