  • I am soooo envious of hs lifestyle. He has the greatest life I can imagine. Living in Devon living off the Land cooking eating & drinking all that nature gives for free. What a jammy b'stard. You can take your Pop star lifestyles and stick em where the sun don't shine, it's a Hugh's life for me.

  • His show is the best!

  • mmmm nice!!..... I'd have liked to see him catch the Squirrels too and see how he dispatched them, skinned & gutted them and prepared them for cooking. Old Hugh doesn't pull his punches. Ooooo arrrrr it be the way of the cundryzoid!!!

  • Squirrel yuk...this recipe would make my pet hamster taste nice.

Don't eat squirrel make em into soft under pants or natty hats.

Squirrel is rat of the trees we will all be eating crow and jackdaw next if Hugh has his ways.

  • Why the fuss, why the controversy? They are a wild animal, healthy to eat like rabbit. They have lived free and well, unlike so many farmed animals. In parts of Asia they eat dog and in parts of Europe they eat horse yet I won't judge as it's each to their own. One thing I know is I would never be a veggie!!!

  • How can you two bastards unlike this!!?? You animal loving pricks he is doing them a favor by cooking a wonderful dish that he will savour and i know i will :D

  • They'll go nuts for it!

  • Feral cats? Well, if they get killed anyway and taste good, why not? We don't tend to eat carnivorous animals as a rule, preferring the sweeter meat of herbivores and omnivores, but if they were otherwise go to waste, why not make use of them?

There is no reason why the eating of squirrels should be immoral or outrageous when we do eat rabbits, cows, sheep and pigs. At least the squirrel enjoyed a natural life before being killed anyway by the forrester.

Just because it has a fluffy tail

  • @Smallpotato1965

ferral cats are also destructive to wildlife. Why don't you catch as eat them too?

  • @djonutube Dogs won't destoy forests (by eating the bark of young trees and so killing them) and I wouldn't recommend petting a wild squirrell. It will bite your thumb off. Squirrels are not domesticated.

Squirrels are not dogs, they are rats with fluffy tails. *Wild* rats with fluffy tails. Even those who have tame, domesticated pet rats will scream and holler at the sight of a wild rat and want it killed, since even pet rat lover aren't emotionally involved with vermin.

  • @44Beats Makes me proud to come from a Devonian farming family! It's not always paradise, but it's pretty good!

  • m-makes me wanna try it so bad... o.o
