Jóla bíða eftir þér

I´m starting to hate Maggi so much... Anyways, another song form Jól í Latabæ, this time by Maggi Mjói and Íþróttaálfurinn (Jives and Sportacus, Jives never showed up on the show. Poor guy. I would´ve preferred him to Ziggy...)

Translation notes:
1. I´m not sure what Þokkalegur actually means. The literal definition is "reasonable". it´s basically just a slang word he uses for emphasis, so I ignored it where it seemed like it was more emphatic than meaningful.
2. enginn fara í bað- I believe this refers to the bath that the Jólasveinar (yule lads, basically christmas trolls) take every year. It´s not a bath like a bubble bath so much as soaking in a natural spring type thing and other people can go and join them or see their costumes.
3. Jólaköttur- The Yule/Christmas Cat. Basically it was used as a threat to get people to work harder. http://www.simnet.is/gardarj/yule11.htm explains it better than I could. Iceland has some awesome Christmas Traditions.
4. settið að klikka- I´m not sure what this means. I think klikka & tikka are onomatopoeic words for click and tick, and settið literally means "the set", but I´m not sure what that means specifically... Maybe something else related to Christmas, or clocks.
5. Bökkum- not sure. It´s either a dative verb, bakka, which means "back up" or a noun meaning "edge". I went with back, I think that´s right grammatically.
6. cirka- cirka is not an Icelandic word. Icelandic doesn´t have "c", so I´m not sure what "cirka" should be, but there are some languages that have "cirka" and it means "about". So... yeah.

I hate Maggi. His songs are always the hardest to translate.
