My Grandad was in the war he wat in New guine i think i would ask him but he is dead. He server in the blackwatch. my Brother in law was also in Somlia during Operation Restore Hope but he was back at the hanger when the 2 blackhawks got shot down. he dosent like to talk about it that much becasue a freind of his died in his arms.

my granddad (1917- feb-27 2008) sgt Charlie white of the royal artillery.
he was in Dunkirk ,north Africa, d-day, operation market garden, the battle of the bulge. he somehow survived he got shot twice and hit by shrapnel in the back in north Africa. but during the six years he only got 3 days leave back in england.
he was a great granddad and i will always be proud of him and the sacrifice he made for england and the rest of the world.
p.s he only told me his war experiences once.

thats touching...actually my grandfather was in the war as well which is what compelled me to make the remebrance videos. he flew a p51 mustang, performed many duties before he was shot down and became a POW for 2 years. he recorded his whole war experience in a red cross war log given to him while a prisoner. we should all be proud
