SOME PEOPLE

Some people come into our lives
and leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same.

Some people come into our lives
and quickly go... Some stay for awhile
and embrace our silent dreams.

They help us become aware
of the delicate winds of hope...
and we discover within every human spirit
there are wings yearning to fly.

They help our hearts to see that
the only stairway to the stars
is woven with dreams...
and we find ourselves
unafraid to reach high.

They celebrate the true essence
of who we are...
and have faith in all
that we may become.

Some people awaken us
to new and deeper realizations...
for we gain insight
from the passing whisper of their wisdom

Throughout our lives we are sent
precious souls...
meant to share our journey
however brief or lasting their stay
they remind us why we are here.

To learn... to teach... to nurture... to love

Some people come into our lives
to cast a steady light
upon our path and guide our every step
their shining belief in us
helps us to believe in ourselves.

Some people come into our
lives to teach us about love...
The love that rests within ourselves.

Let us reach out to others
and feel the bliss of giving
for love is far richer in action
that it ever is in words.

Some people come into our lives
and they move our souls to sing
and make our spirits dance.

They help us to see that everything on earth
is part of the incredibility of life...
and that it is always there
for us to take of its joy.

Some people come into our lives
and leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same.

I think the poem perfectly illustrates what Leslie meant to Jess.
Through her life, and ultimately through her death, she made him, and inspired him to become, a better person. That very aspect of the story resonates deep within my heart and soul
The book and the movie illustrates how she gave him courage, taught him to believe in himself,
and ultimately, to love unconditionally.

A very special movie indeed.
The viewing experience was rather bland. It's about 6/10 or 7/10 max
I even joked that it's a scheme to have kids use prosaz
...but the afterviewing, goodness gracious...there's just so many lessons that continue to resonate in my mind, and feelings that radiate in the heart.
So much so that 10/10 would be an understatement, and I just had to read the book.
Both the movie and the book are profound works. Perhaps they hit too close to home.
I thought of many many music to go along with the vid. Enya's "Only Time" came to mind....but in the end, the theme of Beth and Jo "Valley of the Shadow" from Little Women fit as perfect as ever. Like Leslie, Beth inspired Jo to become a better person (writer) and the two of them are best friends (on top of being sisters)

"Why love, if losing hurts so much? I have no answers anymore: only the life i have lived. Twice in that life i've been given the choice: as a boy and as a man. The boy chose safety, the man chooses suffering. The pain now is part of the happiness then. That's the deal."
~Sir Anthony Hopkins as C.S. Lewis in Shadowlands

"Why love, if losing hurts so much?
We love to know that we are not alone"
~C.S. Lewis

It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart.
Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
A wise person thinks much about death, while the fool thinks only about having a good time now.
Ecclesiastes 7:2-4

  • Thanks for sharing this with me. I like what you wrote about it. A fortune cookie once told me that sadness is poison for the soul. I argued with it but my words were paltry compared to yours.

    Thank you again.

  • Thanks so much for appreciating.

    um....rating ?

Do you mean what I wrote in the vid or in the info section? Most of the info sections are quotes. The last one is from the Book
