What are the downsides of this other than price because it's been 3 years since this video and i'm still not seeing laservue in stores other than amazon.com

I still think oled is better.

@macflyfilm This can handle any color, as OLED's can only do 40% (Wikipedia) of what the human eye responds to. And why is OLED better? Laser TV's use less than 50% of average.
By the way, color, picture, or brightness quality does not degrade over a long period of time.

Mitsubishi Electric is demonstrating its Home Cinema Laser Display at IFA 2011. This product is the latest generation of Mitsubishi’s laser technology 3D home cinema display, and it’s the first time this has been seen by a European audience.
